I am a Reader in Criminology and International Relations in the School of Law at Birkbeck, University of London, where I have also been Assistant Dean for Research since 2017.

I am a founding Co-Director of Birkbeck's multidisciplinary Centre for Political Economy and Institutional Studies. I also founded and convene the Birkbeck Criminology Seminar Series. Since 2018, I have been a member of the Advisory Group of Birkbeck Law School's Institute for Crime and Justice Policy Research (ICPR).

Beyond Birkbeck, I am a member of the Peer Review College of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) for their Future Leaders Fellowships programme. I am also a member of the editorial board of Critical Criminology.
